Buying a Used Car Shouldn't Be This Stressful
Anyone who's ever tried to buy a used car knows the drill. You spend hours scrolling through listings online, trying to work out which ones are genuine and which are hiding something. You drive across the county to look at a car that turns out to be nothing like the photos. The seller swears it's "just had a full service" but can't produce any paperwork. You get it home and within a week something goes wrong.
It doesn't have to be like that. What if you could just tell someone exactly what you want — the make, model, budget, spec, colour — and have them find it for you, check it properly, negotiate the price, and deliver it ready to go? That's exactly what we do.
Think of us as your personal car headhunter. You tell us the brief, and we do all the legwork. We're mechanics who buy and sell cars every day — we know what to look for, what to avoid, and how to spot the ones that other people miss.
Wasted Weekends
Driving to viewings that turn out to be duds. Cars that look great online but are falling apart in person. Time you'll never get back.
Hidden Problems
Clocked mileage, accident damage that's been covered up, outstanding finance, missing service history. The used car market is full of traps.
Overpaying
Without trade knowledge, it's hard to know if a price is fair. Dealers have margins to protect. Private sellers have their own expectations.
No Comeback
Buy privately and you've got almost no legal protection if something goes wrong. Buy from a dodgy dealer and good luck getting them to fix it.
How Our Car Sourcing Service Works
It's dead simple. You tell us what you want, we go and find it. Here's the process step by step:
Tell Us Your Brief
Send us a WhatsApp or give us a call and tell us what you're after. This can be as specific as "a 2020 Audi A3 S-line in Navarra Blue with less than 30k miles" or as open as "something reliable for under £8k that's good on fuel." We'll ask the right questions to narrow it down — budget, must-haves, deal-breakers, when you need it by.
We Search Everywhere
We don't just check AutoTrader. We search dealer stock, trade-only auctions, private listings, our own network of contacts, dealer part-exchanges that haven't hit the market yet, and sources most buyers don't have access to. We know where the good cars hide and we know how to spot a deal.
We Recommend the Right Options
Once we've found strong candidates, we'll come back to you with our honest recommendations. We'll tell you what's good, what to watch for, and which one we'd buy ourselves. If you're not sure what car suits your needs, we'll suggest models you might not have considered based on your requirements — sometimes the best car for you isn't the one you had in mind.
We Check Everything
This is where being mechanics makes all the difference. Before you commit to anything, we carry out a thorough inspection. We're not just kicking tyres — we're checking the engine, gearbox, suspension, electrics, bodywork, and looking for signs of accident damage, corrosion, or bodged repairs. We also run a full HPI check covering outstanding finance, insurance write-offs, stolen status, and mileage discrepancies.
We Negotiate the Best Price
We buy cars for a living — we know what things are really worth and we know how to negotiate. We'll get you a better price than you'd get walking in off the street, because we know the market, we know the margins, and sellers know we're not time-wasters. Any issues we find during the inspection become leverage to bring the price down further.
We Deliver It Ready to Go
Once everything checks out and you're happy, we handle the purchase, sort any minor work that needs doing (service, fresh MOT, valet), and deliver the car to your door. You get a car that's been professionally vetted by mechanics, at a price we've negotiated on your behalf, without you having to lift a finger.
Why Use a Car Sourcing Service Instead of Buying Yourself?
Access to More Cars
We search trade-only sources, auctions, dealer networks, and contacts that aren't available to the public. The best deals often never make it to AutoTrader.
Proper Mechanical Checks
We're not just looking at cosmetics — we're trained mechanics who check engines, gearboxes, suspension, electronics, and bodywork properly.
No Risk of Getting Stung
Clocked cars, hidden damage, outstanding finance — we check for all of it. We won't let you buy a lemon because our reputation depends on it.
Expert Recommendations
Not sure which model? We'll suggest the right car based on your actual needs — reliability, running costs, insurance group, and real-world ownership experience.
Better Prices
We negotiate trade prices and know what cars are genuinely worth. You'll almost certainly pay less than you would buying on your own.
Zero Hassle
No scrolling, no viewings, no awkward test drives, no paperwork. Tell us what you want and we handle absolutely everything.

What Kind of Cars Can We Source?
Anything. Whether you're after a cheap runaround, a family SUV, a specific Audi RS model, or a van for work, we can find it. Here are some of the most common requests we handle:
What Checks Do We Carry Out?
This is where we're different from someone who just finds a car on the internet and passes it on. We're mechanics — we know what to look for and we check properly. Every car we source goes through the following before we recommend it:
Full HPI / Provenance Check
We check for outstanding finance, insurance write-off history (Cat S, Cat N, Cat B, Cat D), stolen status, plate changes, mileage discrepancies, and whether the car has been imported. If anything flags up, we walk away — or tell you exactly what it means so you can make an informed decision.
Mechanical Inspection
Engine condition, oil quality, coolant state, timing belt/chain status, gearbox operation, clutch wear, turbo health, exhaust condition including DPF and catalytic converter. We listen for noises, check for leaks, and look for the signs that only a trained mechanic would spot. If it's got an issue, we'll find it.
Bodywork & Accident Damage
Paint depth readings, panel gap checks, looking for signs of resprays, filler, or mismatched paint. We check under the car for chassis damage, corrosion, and evidence of impact repairs. A car might look perfect in photos but tell a very different story under proper inspection.
Electronics & Diagnostics
Full diagnostic scan to read fault codes and check all systems — engine management, ABS, airbags, gearbox, parking sensors, and infotainment. Warning lights that have been reset but still have underlying faults are a common trick in the used car market. We plug in and find the truth.
Service History & Documentation
We verify the service history, check the MOT history online, look at past advisory notices, and confirm that the mileage is consistent across MOT records. A car with a genuine full service history is worth significantly more than one with gaps — and we know how to verify it's real.
Road Test
We drive the car properly. Not just around the block — we check the gearbox through all gears, test the brakes, listen for suspension knocks, check the clutch bite point, test the air con, and get a feel for whether the car drives the way it should for its age and mileage.
Who Uses Our Car Sourcing Service?
Our car sourcing service is for anyone who wants to buy a used car without the hassle and risk of doing it alone. We work with all kinds of people:
Car Sourcing Across Essex and Beyond
We're based in Shoeburyness, Southend-on-Sea, but we source cars from across the whole of the UK. We'll search dealers, auctions, and private sellers nationally to find you the best car at the best price — and we'll deliver it to your door anywhere in Essex.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does your car sourcing service cost?
Get in touch and we'll discuss it based on what you're looking for. The fee is typically a small fraction of what you'd lose by overpaying for the wrong car or buying one with hidden problems. Most of our customers tell us we saved them more than the fee just through the price negotiation alone.
How long does it take to find a car?
It depends on how specific your requirements are. A common car like a VW Golf or Audi A3 in a popular colour — we can often find strong options within a few days. A specific model in a rare spec or colour might take a couple of weeks. We'll keep you updated throughout and won't rush you into anything.
What if I don't know what car I want?
That's absolutely fine — in fact that's one of the best reasons to use us. Tell us your budget, what you need it for (commuting, family, fun, work), and any preferences, and we'll suggest the right models. We'll steer you towards reliable choices and away from money pits based on our real-world experience as mechanics.
Can you source any make and model?
Yes. While we specialise in Audi and VAG group vehicles, we source all makes and models. Ford, BMW, Mercedes, Toyota, Hyundai, Kia — whatever you need. If it exists on four wheels, we can find it.
Do you offer any guarantee on sourced cars?
We thoroughly vet every car before we recommend it, and we stand behind our assessments. If we say a car is mechanically sound, it is. We also offer servicing and repairs at our workshop, so if anything does come up down the line, we're here to sort it.
Can you help me sell my current car too?
Absolutely. We can either buy your old car from you directly (we'll give you a fair price), take it as a part-exchange against your new one, or if it's only good for scrapping, we'll handle that too and beat any online quote. One stop for everything.
I've found a car myself — can you just inspect it for me?
Yes. If you've found a car online and want a professional opinion before you commit, we can carry out a pre-purchase inspection. We'll check it mechanically, run the HPI, and give you an honest verdict on whether it's worth the asking price.
Ready to Find Your Perfect Car?
Tell us what you're after — budget, make, model, or just what you need it for. We'll take it from there. No obligation, no pressure.
