Car Won't Start? Jump Start Service Wherever You Are in Essex
At home, at work, in a car park or at the side of the road, we come to you and jump-start it, day or night. If a jump isn't enough, our mobile mechanic finds out why and fixes it there, or takes it to our garage and brings it back. One fixed price agreed before we set off.
We come to you · Mechanics, not just a jump pack · No membership · Cash or card
Won't start? Do this first
- Stop trying to start it. Each go drains what's left in the battery and won't get it going.
- Switch off the lights, the heater and anything plugged in.
- On a fast road (the A127, A13, A130, A12 or the M25), get everyone out on the side away from the traffic and wait behind the barrier. Stuck in a live lane? Stay in with your seatbelt on, hazards on, and call 999.
- If the battery smells of rotten eggs, or looks swollen or wet, don't let anyone jump it with cables. Tell us when you call.
- Then call or WhatsApp us your reg and where you are: a postcode, the car park, or the road and nearest junction.
How our jump start service works
Tell us where you are
Call or WhatsApp your location and reg. The reg tells us which battery your car takes, so one is already in the van if it needs it.
Fixed price before we set off
One price on the phone for coming out and the jump. Nothing added when we get there. Cash or card.
Jumped, tested, moving
We get it started, then test the battery and the charging, so you know whether it'll start again tomorrow.
More than a jump when you need it
A jump gets the engine running. It doesn't tell you why it went flat. We're a family-run garage, so whatever it turns out to be, it gets sorted.
A jump and you're away
The battery was just flat: lights left on, a cold night, or the car's sat for a while. We start it, check it's charging, and tell you how long to drive to top it back up.
New battery, there and then
If the battery won't hold a charge, a jump only lasts until tomorrow. We fit a new one from stock where you're parked, stop/start AGM and EFB included, and take the old one away.
Mobile battery replacement →A mechanic looks at it
If it's not the battery, our mobile mechanic finds out what it is: the starter motor, the alternator, a loose earth or the immobiliser. Plenty of those we can fix at the roadside.
Can't fix it there? We take it
If it needs the workshop, we take it to our garage on Vanguard Way, fix it and bring it back to you. Collection and return are free when we do the repair.
Mobile mechanic →The jump starts we get called for
Lights left on
Flat by the morning. Usually a jump and a decent drive sorts it.
Car's been sat a while
Back from holiday, or the second car nobody drives. We jump it and check the battery is worth keeping.
First cold morning
A tired battery copes all summer and gives up on the first frost. We'll test it and tell you straight.
Clicking, or turning over slowly
Usually the battery, sometimes the starter motor. We find out which before you buy anything.
Started on a jump, dead again
The battery has failed or the car isn't charging it. We test both and fix whichever it is.
Stop/start and automatics
We connect to the points the maker specifies, in the right order, and carry the right batteries.
Needs the truck instead? 24/7 car recovery. Run out of fuel? Emergency fuel delivery.
Jump starts across Essex
From our garage in Shoeburyness, nearest first. Times are on clear roads; we give you a live ETA when you call. Tap your town for local details.
20 miles or more from us (Stanford-le-Hope & Corringham, Billericay, Brentwood, Chelmsford, Grays, Maldon, Tilbury, Burnham-on-Crouch, Witham, Braintree, Epping, Loughton, Harlow, Colchester, Clacton-on-Sea): for an urgent jump a local firm may reach you first, and we'll tell you if so. We're still the call for a battery, a diagnosis or a repair at our garage.

Mechanics, not just a jump pack
Battery, diagnosis or a repair at our garage, all from one call.
Jump starts: frequently asked
How much is a jump start?
It depends on where you are, so we tell you one fixed price on the phone before we set off. Nothing is added when we arrive, and there's nothing to join. If it turns out you need a battery or a repair, you get the price for that before we do it. Call or WhatsApp your location for a straight answer.
How quickly can you get to me?
We're based in Shoeburyness (SS3) and we're quickest across the SS postcodes: Southend, Leigh, Rochford, Rayleigh, Benfleet and Canvey. The far side of Essex can be an hour or more, so we give you an honest ETA on the phone before you commit, and if a local firm would get to you sooner we'll say so.
Do I need breakdown cover or a membership?
No. There's no annual fee and nothing to sign up to. You pay once, for this one job, at the price we agree on the phone.
It started after the jump. How long should I drive?
Give it at least half an hour of steady driving, ideally on faster roads rather than stop-start traffic, before you switch off. If it's flat again the next morning, the battery has probably failed or the car isn't charging it. Call us back and we'll test both.
What if it still won't start after a jump?
Then it isn't just a flat battery, and that's where a mechanic beats a jump pack. We look at the starter, the alternator, the earths and the immobiliser where the car is. If we can fix it there, we do. If it needs the workshop, we take it to our garage in Shoeburyness, fix it and bring it back. Collection and return are free when we do the repair.
Why does my car keep going flat?
The usual reasons are an old battery (most last around five years), lots of short journeys that never recharge it, a fault that drains it overnight, or an alternator that isn't charging. We test the battery and the charging on the spot, so you find out which it is before you spend money on the wrong fix.
Can a jump start damage my car?
Done properly, no. Problems come from cables on the wrong way round, connecting in the wrong order, or jumping a stop/start car from the battery when the maker says to use separate jump points under the bonnet. We follow the maker's points and order for your car.
Can you jump-start a car at home, at work or in a car park?
Yes, wherever the car is: your driveway or the kerb outside, a work or station car park, a supermarket or a multi-storey, or the side of the road. Tell us exactly where it is, and which level for a multi-storey.
Are you open at night and at weekends?
Yes, 24 hours a day, every day. Batteries mostly give up on cold mornings and dark evenings, so that's when we get called. Ring or WhatsApp whenever it happens.
